In my experience it’s deeply caring, intelligent, and sensitive people who use eating disorders to cope with the pains of living.
Those whose body autonomy was taken from them (through violence, fat phobia, trauma) or denied from the beginning (transness, intersex, gender expansion).
Through our collaboration, I can support your concerns and inspire you to offer the nuanced and very deep care your client needs during their eating disorder recovery.
Colonization has created eating disorders, and they’re one of the most difficult things to recover from. It is my belief the more clinicians become comfortable talking about food and body the more we may disrupt the stigma and fear around working with people who use eating disorders to cope. More on my background and experience below.
I look forward to working with you.
